Mr. Tanner is originally from Mobile, Alabama where he received a Bachelor of Science in Geology. He worked as an Environmental Scientist at an engineering firm for 3 years before returning to school. He moved to the Toledo area in 2003 to pursue a Master of Science Degree in Geology at Bowling Green State University. As part of his degree he participated in a National Science Foundation funded program where graduate students in the sciences assisted K-12 teachers in their classrooms. Mr. Tanner enjoyed teaching so much that he entered another program through BGSU that allowed him to receive a Master of Education Degree and licensure to teach 7-12 science. Mr. Tanner began his teaching career at TTA in 2006. During his time at TTA Mr. Tanner created and coordinated the school’s Quiz Bowl Team and the Gamer’s Guild and has been involved in a number of other school activities. Mr. Tanner currently teaches 8thgrade Earth Science, 9thgrade Physical Science, and 11th and 12th grade Geology.
